Our Member Spotlight is on Cathy Carson, BScN, RN, HNB-BC, HTCP, CCA

Meet our Member Cathy!

Cathy Carson is a nurse of 40 years. She has held certifications as an emergency and pediatric nurse and is currently a Certified Holistic Nurse. She is originally from Canada and moved to the USA in 1998 where she has worked at the same facility for 25 years. She has held the position of the Integrative Nurse Specialist caring for patients, families, and teammates for the past 11 years. She also is involved on teammate wellness initiatives at an enterprise level . Cathy holds certifications in massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, acupressure, and others. She has been a HTCP since 2015 and a Level 1 instructor since 2017. She has presented posters and podium presentations locally, regionally, and nationally. Cathy is a North Carolina Great 100 nurse, Daisy recipient and Press Gainey Nurse of the Year Finalist. Her hobbies are gardening, hiking, and camping, painting, and playing and teaching curling. She has travelled to the Dominican Republic several times and Bolivia as part of a medical mission. Her current mission is to teach and mentor self-care, grounding, and centering practices to help healthcare workers to enhance their compassion. Cathy is also a first-time author of a book introducing children and their parents about holistic practices for wellness.
